Our Team

Teresa M. Bernhardt is a well-respected bilingual attorney (fluent in Spanish) who has practiced law in the Memphis area for over 25 years. She has a broad transactional practice, focusing primarily in the areas of residential and commercial transactions (she has closed over 11,000 transactions), as well as extensive experience in title law, and business law services (including business formations and contract negotiations). After 17 years of owning and running her own practice, Bernhardt Law Firm, Teresa joined the law firm of Harkavy Shainberg Kaplan PLC as senior counsel in the spring of 2020. She graduated from Virginia Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Spanish Literature, as well as a minor in Chemistry. Teresa attended the College of William & Mary Law School International Law Program in Spain, and Christian Brothers University’s Certified Financial Planning Program. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Northern Illinois University School of Law with honors, 9th in her class.
